Creating codes
What kinds of QR codes can I make?
Twelve: Website, PDF, Wi-Fi, Contact card, Menu, Images, Video, Social media, Simple text, Business page, Facebook and App. Pick one when you start a new QR code.
Do I need an account?
You can create and style a QR code without one. To save it, you need a free account. You sign in with your email address: we send you a 6-digit code, so there’s no password to remember.
How does a QR code you can change work?
A QR code you can change opens a link on yourqrcode.com (like yourqrcode.com/r/k7f2qxz), which sends people on to your page. That’s what lets you change where it goes after printing and see how many people scan it.
Wi-Fi codes are different: the network name and password are inside the code itself, so they can’t be changed.
Which file formats can I download?
PNG, SVG, PDF and EPS. PNG is best for screens, documents and social media. SVG and PDF stay sharp at any size, which is what print shops prefer. EPS is for older design programs.
How big should I print my code?
At least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 × 0.8 in) for things people hold, like a flyer or a menu, and bigger for posters people see from a distance. Keep a dark code on a light background, leave some white space around it, and test it with your phone before you print lots of copies.
Editing codes
Can I change the web address after printing?
Yes, if it’s a QR code you can change: open it in My QR codes and type the new address. The printed code stays the same. Wi-Fi codes can’t be changed.
Can I change how my code looks?
Yes, anytime in My QR codes: colors, dot shapes, corners, logo and frame. A new look means a new picture to print, but what the code opens stays the same, so copies you already printed keep working.
Can I turn a code off for a while?
Yes. Pause it in My QR codes and people who scan it see a short message instead of your page. Turn it back on whenever you like.
What happens when I delete a code?
It stops working right away — anyone who scans it sees a short “not found” message — and it disappears from My QR codes.
Why can’t I change a Wi-Fi code?
Phones join a Wi-Fi network straight from the code, without going online first, so the network name and password are stored inside the code itself. If they change, make a new code — it only takes a minute.
Scans
What do you record when someone scans a code?
For a QR code you can change: the time, the approximate location (country, region and city, worked out from the network), the type of device, its operating system and browser, its language setting and the website it came from, if any. We never store the internet (IP) address or anything that names the person who scanned.
What is the difference between scans and unique scans?
Every scan counts once in “scans”. “Unique scans” counts each phone only once a day, so ten scans from the same phone in an afternoon are one unique scan. To tell phones apart we use a one-way code made from network and browser details and a secret key. It changes every day and can’t be turned back into an address.
Can I see who scanned my code?
No. You see totals and trends — when, where and on what kind of device — but never names, phone numbers or internet (IP) addresses.
Why are there no scans for my Wi-Fi code?
A Wi-Fi code, like any code marked “Always on” in My QR codes, holds your details itself. Phones read them straight from the code without passing through yourqrcode.com, so there’s nothing for us to count. To see how many people scan a code, make a QR code you can change.
Billing
How much does it cost?
Creating and styling QR codes is free. To download them, and to keep QR codes you can change working, you need a plan: 1.99 USD for your first 7 days, then 19.95 USD every 4 weeks until you cancel. See pricing.
How do I cancel?
Open Billing in My QR codes and choose to cancel — it takes one click. You won’t be charged again.
What happens if I cancel?
You won’t be charged again. Your QR codes you can change keep working until the end of the time you’ve paid for (or the end of your first 7 days).
After that, they show a short ‘not active’ page when someone scans them. They stay in your account and work again if you start a new plan.
How do I pay, and is it safe?
Card payments go through Stripe, a payment company. Your card details go straight to Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
Can I get a refund?
Write to support@yourqrcode.com and tell us what happened. If you were charged by mistake — for example after you cancelled — we’ll refund it. You can cancel anytime from My QR codes so you’re never charged again.
Your account
How do I sign in?
Enter your email address and we’ll send you a 6-digit code. Type it in and you’re signed in — no password needed. If you prefer, you can set a password in your account settings.
I didn’t get my sign-in code
It can take a minute to arrive. Check your spam or junk folder and make sure the email address is spelled correctly. You can ask for a new code after 30 seconds; each code works for 10 minutes.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Account in My QR codes and choose to delete your account. This removes your account and your codes, and your codes stop working. If you have a plan, cancel it in Billing first so you aren’t charged again.
How do I contact you?
Email support@yourqrcode.com. Tell us the email address you sign in with and, if it’s about a QR code, its name.
